Excellent hotel. Very good English spoken by the helpful, friendly and informed staff. Good breakfast buffet with a wide choice of dishes, both Western and Eastern. Clean, comfy and sound-proof rooms. Maybe the most comfortable hotel beds in China - after 13 years here, I should know about beds in local hotels ;-. Great location: Literally across the road from the subway, several Western restaurants and fast food joints like KFC, Burger King, Elements Fresh and sadly, those "golden" arches. Two blocks from one of the many lakes. From the lobby, one flight down by elevator you have arguably two of the three best Western pubs in Suzhou. Do try The Camel Pub. Good selection of drinks and an excellent array of pub food. Great prices too. Stay away from the hotels indoor restaurant for lunch or dinner, though. Overpriced, bland and rather stodgy food.
